Sup Reader,
“If you’re not Hormozi, don’t even bother”
That gem came from some dudebro who thinks you really shouldn't be creating business related content unless you're running a $250m a year business.
Luckily, my huge ego is unable to be shaken by people that resell Go High Level with a straight face, sorry JORDAN.
We're not imposters
It's easy to doubt yourself, especially if you start looking at what the "big names" are doing. You may or may not have heard of Alex Hormozi, but he's a pretty well known dude for business advice. He runs a multi-squillion dollar a year business, is a prolific content creator, has courses and books and all that kinda stuff.
We are all shaped by our experiences, and people like Alex Hormozi and other big names are no different - they're still giving advice based on their perspective.
And while his experience and knowledge is obviously valid and great, that doesn't make mine or anyone else's experience and knowledge any less valid or great.
Yet for some reason people can't help but play the comparison game. Either some random douchebag will think my advice isn't worthwhile because I'm not mega rich, or maybe I'm thinking that about myself.
Big nope to that.
(Rich) victims of their own success
There's a saying don't take financial advice from billionaires. Sounds dumb, they're rich af so they'd obviously know how to make money, right?
But they tend to give shitty advice to normal people, because they can't remember what it was like being at that level. Imagine the problems a billionaire would be dealing with. Then have that same person try tell you how to solve your problems. No chance.
You know who would give me better financial advice? Someone who's maybe a step or 2 above me. Someone who remembers what it was like to be me.
It's no different with what we do.
The advice Alex Hormozi gives tends to be focused on scaling a big business.
And I'm no slouch, but I definitely don't run a massively multi-million dollar business. I don't even want to grow my business that big. I'm happy working by myself (and not too hard), while making enough money to live a pretty comfortable life. So that advice about scaling... it just doesn't fit.
Odds are, since you're reading this email, you're pretty similar to me.
Just because people like Alex Hormozi exist, that doesn't mean we don't have our own amazingly awesome insight and knowledge to share. We've got our own experiences that have given us views and beliefs and opinions and expertise. And that means we can give some pretty epic advice, especially to the people who are a few steps below us in that journey.
Different people are different (shocking I know)
Don't forget that people are all different. They have different needs. Different wants. Different goals and dreams.
Some people care a lot about mega scale and big money and flashy stuff. Some people care a lot about family time and flexibility and helping people. And some people will want the exact same thing as you, and they don't want whatever that big intimidating name in your space is selling.
Don't underestimate the power of your own perspective. Just because Jordan thinks we're not worthwhile unless we're the same as Hormozi, doesn't make it true. There's plenty of room for you to blow people's minds with the stuff you know.
The moral of the story
This email was originally going to run through my sales process (I guess I'll send that one next week), but a friend was feeling a bit insecure and doubtful and I felt like I needed to send this email this week.
So I'll tell you what I'd tell them:
Your experience and perspective is VALID
People worse than you are giving advice daily
Success doesn't make someone the only valid choice for advice
Jordan sucks (sorry if your name is Jordan, I wasn't talking about you)

ps. I recently started a YouTube channel. I've got 2 videos so far, and they're probably a bit mediocre cause I just started, but if you like the stuff I say maybe you could check out the channel. I'd appreciate it either way.
